Biography

Myrtle Williams, (Born January 30, 1938, Philadelphia, PA) received her undergraduate degree in Fine Art from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in Printmaking in 1980. She went on to teach at Montgomery County Community College shortly after graduating where her ceramics practice began. Within the span of 35 years, Williams was prolific, spending nearly every day in the studio and producing over 300 ceramic works. Myrtle Williams, now 85, lives outside of Philadelphia in her home of 40 years, surrounded by her sculptures. Her work has been exhibited in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington DC, in addition to her 2023 solo exhibition Spirit of the Sisterhood at Salon 94.
